Medical needling is an inkless tattooing technique that improves the texture and appearance of your scars through stimulating your skins natural healing response – boosting collagen, elastin and melanocyte activity naturally.
It helps soften raised, textured scars by encouraging them to blend more evenly with the surrounding skin and support a more natural re-pigmentation process.
How it Works
After speaking with Colette, book your Medical Needling treatment using our easy online booking system that is available 24/7.
We will gently needle into scarred skin to stimulate your body’s natural healing process, to smooth and refine your scars.
Redness and irritation following treatment is completely normal and to be expected. This will settle over 2-3 weeks.
After your treatment you’ll receive full aftercare guidance to support healing and achieve the best results with your scars.
Consultations are mandatory for all Medical Needling treatments – this is because not all scars can be treated. Please message us via our Website, Instagram or WhatsApp and we will send you our online consultation form to complete. From there, we can advise your treatment plan and services required to achieve your desired results.
Following your Medical Needling treatment your scars will appear red - this is completely normal and they will begin to settle following the treatment within 2-3 weeks.
Medical Needling is often a preparatory treatment before Scar Camouflage. It works to flatten raised or textured scars, and prepare the skin for the best possible camouflage results.
On average, Medical Needling requires 2-3 sessions to achieve optimal results - the number will depend on the severity of your scars and how they respond to treatment.
Our aftercare guides are available 24/7 on our website.
Scars We Can Help Improve
Every scar is different, which means every treatment plan and price is tailored individually.
As a rough guide, small areas start from £100, medium from £200, and large £300. This is per Medical Needling treatment, and you might also want to consider Scar Camouflage treatments once your Medical Needling is complete.
A £30 deposit is required when making your booking – this is fully refundable up to 1 week before your appointment if for any reason you need to cancel or rearrange.
We take payment via card or cash on the day of your appointment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Most clients describe the sensation as a mild scratchy feeling rather than pain. Pain tolerance varies from person to person, and the sensitivity of the area being treated also plays a role. Areas closer to a bone can be more uncomfortable than softer areas, and surgical scars often have less feeling due to the nerves being cut during your procedure.
This depends on the size, age, depth, and colouring of the scar, as well as your skin tone and how well your skin reacts to treatment. Most clients require between 2 - 3 sessions. A full assessment during your online consultation will give you a more accurate estimate of what to expect.
Sessions are typically spaced a minimum of 6 weeks apart. This allows the skin to heal fully and settle, so we can accurately assess how your skin has responded before deciding on the next step.
Not always - but for many clients, the two treatments work best together.
Medical Needling flattens the scar, improves its texture, and boosts collagen, elastin and melanocyte to the area. Once the skin is prepared, Scar Camouflage can then be carried out to blend the scar with your surrounding skin tone for a natural finish.
Stretch marks can respond very well to Medical Needling and not require Scar Camouflage depending on how old the marks are. The earlier you treat them, the quicker a result you will see. Compared to surgical scars, which often also need Scar Camouflage and can't be treated until fully healed.
During your online consultation, Colette will assess your scar and advise on the treatment plan that's right for you.
Most clients experience some redness and mild sensitivity immediately after treatment. This typically settles within 24 to 48 hours, with the redness settling over 2-3 weeks. There is no immediate downtime with Medical Needling and you can go about your day as normal after treatment. You can read our full aftercare advice here.
Before any treatment begins, Colette will meet with you for a free consultation. This is where we take the time to understand your goals, assess your scarring, and build a treatment plan tailored to you – including the number of sessions you’re likely to need and a timeline for results.
You can book your free consultation online or reach out to us directly. If nothing is showing in the diary, please don’t hesitate to contact us – we will always fit you in.
